Our vision
We aim to improve the working lives of our members in partnership with Santander UK by being the informed voice of our members.
Key priorities for Advance
- Working in partnership.
- Improving the employee proposition.
- Increasing membership levels of Advance.
- Establishing a local rep base that covers areas where agreements are in place.
- Working in partnership
By working in partnership with Santander UK, Advance is involved at an early stage in the decisions that may affect you or your colleagues. We are actively consulted on proposed changes before they happen. This allows us to negotiate and influence on change on your behalf to achieve the best possible outcome.
This approach enables us to listen to your views before we attend a meeting. We then act as your voice, articulating your suggestions and ensuring that management take them into account before making their final decisions. By acting as your voice we ensure that your feedback is valued and that you are therefore part of the success of the company.
Improving the Employee Proposition
The Employee Proposition is what the company offers you by way of reward, benefits, and working environment. Through regular meeting with management, under the Partnership framework, Advance will get the best possible outcomes for members.
We do this by listening to what you, our members, want. We listen by conducting surveys on a range of topics and gathering feedback from local reps and from our helpline. We aim to improve the work/life balance of our members and to create job satisfaction through clear and transparent career progression. We will work towards achieving People Policies that reflect best practice rather than simply complying with the law.
Increasing membership levels of Advance
This is a key aim, because it is your views we wish to represent, and in order to do this most effectively, we strive to represent the highest number of the overall workforce possible. Throughout the year there are a number of incentive schemes designed for members to receive awards for referring a friend, so call the Advance office or speak to your local rep to enquire about current incentive schemes.
Establishing a local rep base that covers areas where agreements are in place
Having a good local rep base is the foundation upon which partnership thrives and we can achieve the best possible outcomes for members. Local reps are in the best place to know of any issues and, where possible, to deal with things quickly at a local level. We have introduced a new training program for both new and experienced reps, giving your reps the tools required to best represent your needs. If you would like to know more about become a rep, check the 'get involved' pages on this site, or for more information contact Gerry Moloney on 07917 578 979.
