Recruit & Earn
Our ‘Starter for 10’ has been a great success, with over 250 new members signed up so far.
Need some questions to break the ice to recruit new members? Here are a few suggestions….
- “What’s one thing at work you wish management would improve right away?”
- “Have you ever had an issue at work where you felt like you were on your own?”
- “Do you know what support you’d have if you were disciplined or treated unfairly?”
- “What matters most to you at work — pay, scheduling, safety, respect, or something else?”
- “Have you noticed any changes at work lately that concern you?”
- “If workers had a stronger voice here, what would you want us to push for first?”
- “Did you know union members can have representation in meetings with management?”
- “What would make this workplace better for newer employees?”
- “Have you talked to any union members about why they joined?”
- “What’s been your experience with management listening to employee concerns?”
A good ice breaker works best when it feels conversational rather than like a sales pitch. The goal is usually to listen first, find common concerns, and then explain how the union can help address them.
Don’t forget the great additional benefits such as The Travel Club, Advance Rewards, PayPlan, CheckMyTax to name a few.
