Eid Celebrations at Bradford

Advance Union was proud to partner with the Muslims in Banking community to host a fantastic Eid celebration at Santander’s Bradford Head Office, bringing colleagues together to mark this special occasion.

As part of our commitment to supporting inclusion and celebrating the diverse communities within our workplace, Advance Union was proud to fully fund the catering for the event, providing a delicious Eid-themed menu and refreshments for more than 100 colleagues and guests. The fantastic selection of traditional dishes was enjoyed by all, and the delicious Eid cake proved to be a particular favourite!

A special thank you to Shabina Khatun for her support, dedication, and collaboration in helping to make the event such a success. Working alongside the Muslims in Banking community, we were able to create an event that celebrated the spirit of Eid while bringing people together through food, conversation, and shared experiences.

Supporting events like these is just one of the ways Advance Union invests in creating an inclusive union where colleagues from all backgrounds feel seen, valued, and celebrated.

Events like these play an important role in fostering understanding, belonging, and connection across workplaces. At Advance Union, we are proud to support initiatives that celebrate diversity and help create an environment where everyone feels valued and included.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the celebration so memorable.
Special thanks for our Advane Union reps on site Richard Ackroyd, Arthur Lord, Kieran Romani and Mahboob Nawaz.

A busy day at Redhill Consumer Finance

Southern area reps Mike and Liberty were joined by Saiqa Manzoor, spending the day at Redhill. Our presence on site created a lot of interest (the freebies always help), with many more new members signing up to Advance. We are looking to get down to Redhill again later in the year to support our colleagues and be more visible on site. Congratulations to our raffle winner.

Pop Ups & Presentations

Early July saw the team travel to UP to present to Senior Leaders on what it means to be a member of a union and what unions do. We are seeing more senior leaders join Advance who see the value in what we do on behalf of members.

We also had two pop-ups on floors 4 & 5 in the breakout area, chatting to our members and recruiting a few more to the fold.

Shout out to Bradley and Lisa, two of our UP reps who helped out during the day.
