A few words from the President
As we move through a busy and important period for our union, I want to take a moment to thank every rep and member for the commitment and solidarity you continue to show in workplaces across the country.
The months ahead bring opportunities for us to shape our direction together.
With upcoming NEC business, including our AGM, and Conference Lite on the horizon, I encourage reps to get involved, bring forward ideas and motions, and make sure your voices – and those of your members – are heard.
It’s also welcome to see long‑fought employment rights now progressing in law.
While progress has been made, our role as a union remains as vital as ever: ensuring those rights are understood, implemented properly, and defended where necessary.
Your casework, support for members, and willingness to share learning makes a real difference every day.
Finally, thank you for continuing to build strong, active union communities in your areas – whether through training, charity work, or simply being there when a member needs support. What we achieve, we achieve together.
In solidarity,
Sinead Purse
NEC President
