Mortgages Sub‑Committee Meeting – Union Update for Members

Union representatives from Advance attended the Mortgages Sub‑Committee meeting on 15 January 2026, engaging directly with senior leaders across Mortgage Distribution, Operations, People, and Contact Centre functions. This meeting provided a valuable opportunity to raise member concerns, challenge business decisions, and seek clarity on plans affecting colleagues across Homes, SFI, and the Contact Centres.

Business Performance & Operational Updates

Management opened the session with an overview of performance for 2025 and the outlook for 2026. The business reported significant growth, improved profitability, and strengthened market perception. However, they also acknowledged increasing competitive pressures, delayed transformation deliverables, and the need to address gaps in market share and efficiency.

For members, this means the business is entering 2026 with momentum but also with ambitious targets. We expressed the importance of ensuring that operational pressures do not translate into unsustainable workloads or reduced support for frontline teams.

Homes Direct, SFI & Contact Centre Developments

Updates covering Homes Direct, SFI and Contact Centres highlighted extensive change programmes planned throughout 2026, including system upgrades, process simplifications, recruitment changes, and new digital tools.
Union reps reinforced the need for timely communication, adequate training, and realistic timelines, stressing that change fatigue can be a risk for members. We welcomed the supportive approach that will be taken.

Our Commitment to Members

Your union representatives continue to challenge constructively, advocate confidently, and ensure your concerns are heard at every level. As the business enters a year of significant change, we remain focused on protecting your rights, championing fair treatment, and securing real opportunities for development and recognition.

The next Mortgages Sub‑Committee meeting is scheduled for 14 July 2026, and we will continue to update you on all developments. Please contact your Mortgage Division representatives.
