Financial Support Update: Performance, Progress, and Wellbeing

Your Advance Union representatives recently met with the Financial Support leadership team. The meeting was a valuable opportunity to review the successes of 2025 and, more importantly, to ensure your voices are heard regarding the challenges ahead.

Celebrating Success & Upskilling

The year has seen significant milestones. Jim offered the Union’s congratulations to the members in the department for thier hard work, noting the success of the Debt Manager system and the area’s recent externl award wins.

A major focus has been the AWS pilot, which has driven a massive push for upskilling. Senior management confirmed that four out of five teams are now triple-skilled, providing more variety and expertise across the floor.

Wellbeing & Operational Support

We raised several key points regarding your day-to-day working environment:

  • Breaks & Support: Following a query from members the Business clarified a vital policy: if you have handled a distressing call, it is always right to take a break immediately afterward. Your wellbeing comes first.
  • Overtime In FS :  Our reps flagged interest in extra hours. Management confirmed that overtime is available; please flag your interest to your Team Leader.
  • Flexibility: Keith highlighted the positive use of “exceptional circumstances” to ensure colleagues are treated fairly through the ongoing WoW and People Transformations.

Looking Ahead: Sheffield & TSB

While general sentiment has improved, we know there are mixed feelings regarding the Sheffield site now being a secondary site and the transition toward TSB.

Advance reps held an honest discussion with Business leaders about these concerns. Leadership expressed their sympathy regarding the uncertainty and stressed that they stand ready to support any colleague looking to develop their career—whether that is staying within the bank or seeking opportunities elsewhere.

Your Union is with you. If you have specific concerns about the site changes or your career development, please reach out to your local AU representative.
