Rules on Representation
Non-Employed Member – no representations
Associate Member (those not in a recognised company)- subject to eligibility, virtual only or face to face if agreed by the General Secretary
Ordinary Member (part of a recognised company or Santander Company)
In the first three months of employment, straight away.
The General rule is joining before you have an idea there would be a need to be a member and these are ‘event’ led (as this is solid evidence). They must be a member before an event that would indicate they will need representation and must have made at least one payment before the event listed below:

| Rating Appeal | 1 November each year |
| Performance Management | Before end of Recovery Plan |
| Wellbeing | Start of sickness absence |
| Job Security Appeal | Start of Consultation |
| Probation Appeal | Probation Recovery Plan |
Everything else is ‘advice only’
