Rules on Representation

Non-Employed Member – no representations

Associate Member (those not in a recognised company)- subject to eligibility, virtual only or face to face if agreed by the General Secretary

Ordinary Member (part of a recognised company or Santander Company)

In the first three months of employment, straight away.

The General rule is joining before you have an idea there would be a need to be a member and these are ‘event’ led (as this is solid evidence). They must be a member before an event that would indicate they will need representation and must have made at least one payment before the event listed below:

Performance Management Before end of Recovery Plan
Wellbeing Start of sickness absence
Job Security Appeal Start of Consultation
Probation Appeal Probation Recovery Plan

 

Everything else is  ‘advice only’
