My Contribution & Performance
As you will be aware, My Contribution & Performance has been aligned to the group model. The bank has published a lot of material to help you understand how to get the most out of the process, so we won’t attempt to replicate that detail here.
At a high level the previous four ratings have been replaced with three ratings labels, each with associated scores calculated from goals, behaviors and risk.
- Underperformance (1-1.75)
- Good performance (1.76-2.75)
- Exceptional (2.76-3)
Your score will be determined by using the weighted average of the five objectives which will give you a number and place you in one of the three labels.
It is important to remember that your bonus will be impacted not just by the rating label that you fall in but also your numeric score. Members must be mindful of this when deciding if appealing your rating is right for you.
Some factors you should consider when making the decision to appeal your rating:
- Your Reference Bonus is just an indicator and not a guaranteed figure and will be determined by not just your actual score but largely by company performance and where you sit in the ‘distribution’ curve.
- Appeals can only be made regarding the rating label you’ve been assigned, not your specific numeric score. In some cases, the appeal may result in a review of the underlying score. Any change in your score or rating could influence your bonus, but as the full reward outcomes are finalised later, it’s not possible to predict the impact of small adjustments. You should therefore base any decision to appeal on whether you believe your overall rating fairly reflects your performance, rather than on potential changes to your bonus
- If you have a score of 1-1.75 you will not be eligible for any bonus payment unless you appeal your rating from Underperformance.
- Your union Rep will be on hand to advise throughout the process and support you from the beginning of your appeal journey. It is so important to use this process to ensure you get the rating you have achieved and therefore the bonus you deserve.
Important dates to remember:
- 10th-26th November is the calibration window
- 28th November is when the final ratings submissions will be uploaded
- 8th January is when the EOY documents go live on Workday
- 8th January the appeal window opens.
We would encourage members to take time to collect all the evidence of their performance to prepare for the assessment and make sure you are ready for your end-of-year conversation. Think about how you have performed and how you would rate yourself and why.
This is a new process with new measures, please take the time to read the comprehensive documentation on AskHR and have open dialogue with your manager. If you are still left with questions, please reach out to our helpline for further support in full confidence.
