Advance Union Rep Training Portal

This short course is designed specifically for those involved with or aspiring to be part of the Advance Union National Executive Committee. Participants will explore key responsibilities, including effective representation, understanding governance, and advocating for members’ interests. Emphasis will be placed on practical skills and knowledge essential for effective participation in union activities. By the end of the course, attendees will be equipped to contribute meaningfully to the discourse around workers’ rights and organisational conduct in the UK.  
Course objectives
  • Understand the key responsibilities and duties of an Executive Committee Representative.
  • Examine the governance structures within the Advance Union and their implications.
  • Develop skills in effective communication and representation for union members.
  • Learn about the processes of advocating for members’ rights and interests.
  • Analyse case studies to apply best practices in decision-making and leadership.
